Snow? In the High Desert? Really?

Well, I awoke this morning to a lovely surprise!  SNOW!!!  Yes, that is correct, snow.  Ms. Dee says it hardly ever snows in town, but it does snow a lot East of the Mountains....that is just on the other side of the mountains from where they live.

But for it to snow in town, and stick, and cause school to be delayed by 2 hours - that just doesn't happen here.  So, I guess I am lucky!  Ms. Dee took a few pictures, but I stayed inside.  We don't want the wet to melt me....heeheee.

These first pictures were taken looking out the front door.  Ms. Dee has a 'courtyard' in front of her house, you saw some pictures of Christmas decorations there.  That tree is a pine tree and when it rained and snowed and even 'shlushed' last night, it stuck to the tree really well, and now that limb is hanging much lower than usual.

These pictures are from the back door.  Ms. Dee said the last time it snowed like this in town was about 5 years ago, and many of their juniper plants died because of the frost.  She is a bit concerned that the same thing will happen this year.

Ms. Dee said she does like the snow though - especially at this time of year!
